In the past, candidates applied for jobs and employers had the power. Job seekers would prepare their resumes, submit an application and then pray that they'd get invited to an interview.

Today, employers need to approach candidates about job opportunities. Companies have to design interesting job responsibilities, offer an attractive package, throw in added perks and then pray that candidates will be interested to explore a job with them.


In the past, the recruitment function was focused on qualifying candidates.
Today, the recruitment function has to also pitch candidates.
